Evia is rich in ancient history, especially concerning the Trojan War. The Island holds a prominent and dramatic role in Homer's Iliad. Among many sites, you will discover the Ancient Temple of Artemis (the Goddess of hunting) where Agamemnon sacrificed the sacred deer before setting sail for Troy. If you are a fan of Greek Mythology, you will find the lands come alive as you explore the rolling fields of farmlands and mountains where fair maidens hunted the land and bathed in streams.
Without a doubt, the ancient Greek soil and the perfect weather combine to create some of the best wines and spirits in the world. There are several family vineyards and distilleries on Evia, which make wonderful day trips from Villa Katrin.
Located to the north of the villa, Edipsos is one of the most famous spa towns in Greece. Popular since ancient times, the healing properties of the thermal springs (about 80 of them) were mentioned in the works of Aristotle, and have hosted notable visitors from Marcus Aurilius to Aristotle Onasis to name a few. You may find semi-thermal sea water at certain beaches where thermal springs reach the sea. Make sure to add this day trip to your 'do-not-miss' list.
Visit a local farm to learn the ancient art of making Greek feta cheese. Each region in Greece creates a special feta that incorporates their unique flavors. This is a wonderful and flavorful experience.
Explore the hidden and out of the way sights of Evia on a bicycle tour.
Evia has a fantastic nightlife scene! There are several night clubs in Chalkida to dance the night away. The best part is, you can be back to your country home in just 20 minutes.
One of our favorite night clubs in Chalkida is Mist Club.
If this is your first visit to Evia, or you have been many times, we want your experience to provide you with a lifetime of memories.. Our staff is always available to assist you with any specific requests, your company recommendations, or day trip suggestions.
